Are you clutching the stem of a wine glass in your hand RIGHT NOW? You better be. If not, get out of your papasan chair, run to your cellar, and pour yourself some of the good stuff! Bottle of red, bottle of white...whatever kind of mood you're in tonight... Has Billy Joel written anything better than those lines? Well, I also like "River of Dreams," but whatever! Let's talk wine!A bit about myself. I'm not a buyer, a seller, a vineyard operator or a sommelier... I don't live in a wine-producing region like Napa or the Loire Valley or Buckley County... but I have been experiencing wine since a precious young age. Teaching one's palate to appreciate wine is kind of like learning a foreign language--it's best done when you're a child. I currently work in a sector that requires me to travel and dine out with clients on a regular basis, so by a combination of hands-on experience and self-study, I have become an amateur expert in wine tasting and pairings. I hope that you'll find my wisdom (or should I say "winesdom"?) very valuable.
